How to Shop Smart

Today I wanted to share some of my tips for saving money. I like to think of myself as an avid shopper and I refuse to pay full price for anything!!

Some great ways to save money:

1. Never ever pay full price! Always be on the lookout for sales.

2. Only purchase necessities (I know this is sometimes very hard to do!)

3. Before you purchase more clothes for your closet, go through your clothes and get rid of some stuff. Say you get rid of 5 things, when you go shopping you are only allowed to buy 5 things maximum. Instead of donating clothes after you clean out your closet, go to consignment stores or Platos Closet to get money for your clothes. You can use this money for new clothes or you can save it.

4. Shop for certain things online for exclusive deals and always try to get free shipping use sites like 'retailmenot' to find coupon codes for extra savings

5. Use an online rebates website. I have been a member of Ebates since 2013 and I have gotten $150+ cash back from my online purchases. At the time of purchase, something like 5% may not seem like a lot but, it can add up by the end of the year.

6. If you are student look for student-only deals. I use Amazon Student for free express shipping on my textbooks and sometimes there are coupon codes to save extra. (You can also get a free trial to test out first if you're unsure.)

7. Join the Influenster community. You can discover new products by reading reviews and writing reviews yourself. The website helps to give you an idea of what you're purchasing before you do, so you don't waste your money. Plus, if you build up your impact score you can qualify for campaigns and get for products to try out for review. What's smarter than getting products for free??
