On January 13th, 2017 I got to experience probably one of the most exciting things in my life to date. I got participate in The Teen Vogue Experience #TeenVogueX! I've done multiple posts about the Parsons x Teen Vogue program I participated in last year and this experience is just one of the many great things to happen because of it.
Editorial Panel Discussion and Q+A
The first and most exciting thing on the agenda was the editorial panel. The panel was moderated by Sam Fox and six editors/directors participated. Elaine Welteroth, Editor of Teen Vogue, of course, was there and she is actually the coolest and most down to earth person I've ever met. It was amazing listening to their perspectives on the fashion industry as a whole and not just media. I also learned how each of them landed their roles and how they got their start in fashion.
Photo Shoot
I was in group two and we started off with the photo shoot in the Conde Nast shared photo studio and lab. I was able to participate in my own "photo shoot" (the pictures will be sent to me later) and it was such an awkward experience. Don't get me wrong it was exciting to have a real photographer and photo editor, who was extremely nice, take my pictures in an amazing well lit white space but, I'm definitely not comfortable with the whole modelling thing. I have no idea how to pose and what to do with my hands. There was also a 'Selfie Wall' where everyone was able to take pictures themselves.
Influencer Discussion with Amy Levin, Founder of College Fashionista
The second group activity was an influencer chat with Amy Levin who started College Fashionista in 2009. I didn't take any pictures but, it was held in a conference room. She discussed her journey in entrepreneurship and skills we need to break into fashion in our own way.

Fashion Closet Tour
The last thing I got to see was the ever so famous Teen Vogue Fashion Closet! Every fashion, beauty or lifestyle related magazine has a fashion or beauty closet where PR samples are held for upcoming photo shoots and features in future magazine issues. The tour was lead by Accessories Market Associate, Kyle. The group was also able to seen the editorial teams workspace on our way to the fashion closet.

Closing Remarks
Sam Fox wrapped up the day in the style and everyone got to take home a Teen Vogue Swag Bag!
